Trial of former fugitive Matteo Messina Denaro for the massacres of Capaci and via d’Amelio

In January 2016, the Caltanissetta investigating judge issued a precautionary custody order against Matteo Messina Denaro, Castelvetrano district chief who has been on the run since 1993, accused of being one of the instigators of the Capaci and via d’Amelio massacres.
