«Iran’s intelligence minister says the Israeli regime’s assassination of senior Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran was carried out with Washington’s approval. Ismail Khatib made the remarks on Friday in a message of condolence that he issued on the occasion of Haniyeh’s martyrdom». This is reported by the website of the Iranian television PRESS TV.
The assassination claimed the lives of Haniyeh, the Palestinian resistance movement’s Political Bureau chief, and one of his bodyguards in the Iranian capital on Wednesday. The resistance leader was in the city to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The Summit between Mossad and CIA in Rome before the Attack
The attack was apparently planned for some time with a device placed “about two months ago” in a sort of fortress managed by the Pasdaran (the Islamic Revolutionary Guards). The revelation comes from the New York Times based on several testimonies from Iranian officials and members of the American intelligence, obviously all covered by anonymity.
But an informed source dismissed a report by The New York Times on the details of assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
Speaking to Tasnim on Saturday, the informed source said the story run by The New York Times on August 1, which claimed that Haniyeh has been assassinated by an explosive device covertly smuggled into his residence in Tehran, is “riddled with lies”, another episode of the “psychological operation” by the Zionists, and void of news values.
Indeed, in a statement released on Saturday, the IRGC reported that the attack involved the use of a short-range projectile armed with a warhead weighing approximately seven kilograms, which subsequently caused a massive explosion.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Hamas resistance movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital Tehran, was designed and executed by Israel, with support from the US administration.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken has pointed out that the US was not “informed” or “involved” in the assassination. But now he is being denied by an important representative of the Iranian government.
The accusation – which has yet to be proven – takes on extremely weighty relevance in light of the summit of American and Israeli intelligence held in Rome on Sunday 28 July which should have served to negotiate a truce but, after the killing of the political leader of Hamas and that of the alleged one of military leader Mohamed Dief (denied by the Palestinians), every margin of agreement fell through according to a strategy adopted several times by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu whose sole objective is to exterminate the population of the Gaza Strip to wipe Palestine off the face of the earth.
It would not be the first time that secret agents of the Mossad and those of the Central Intelligence Agency of Langley (Virginia) have made secret agreements before destabilizing military actions, as happened for the release of the caliph founder of ISIS Al Baghdadi, considered by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi), a 007 at the service of the Zionist regime and the USA.
It should also be remembered that the failure of Tel Aviv’s intelligence was the subject of a legal action undertaken by 42 survivors of the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, repeatedly announced by official Egyptian sources.
The summit held in the Italian capital ended on Sunday evening and around the table sat the head of the Mossad David Barnea, the director of the CIA William Burns, the Prime Minister of Qatar Mohammed Al-Thani and the head of Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamal. The topic at the center of the discussion is the development in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, after Israel on Saturday presented the United States with its “updated” proposal for a truce and hostage release deal.
The proposal contained the conditions raised by Netanyahu, including, Axios writes, a foreign mechanism to monitor and prevent the movement of Palestinian weapons and militants from southern Gaza to the north, without specifying how it would work or who would be responsible, maintaining Israeli control of the Gaza-Egypt border, and changes to where IDF forces will redeploy in the Strip in the first phase of the deal, which will remain in the Philadelphia Corridor.
The Israeli prime minister’s office, after the meeting, said that “the parties discussed the clarifying document submitted by Israel regarding the proposed agreement. Negotiations on the main issues will continue in the coming days.”

Iran: “The assassination once again put the Zionist regime’s bestial nature”
But the attack on the political leader of Hamas has thwarted any dialogue.
“Martyr Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination took place at the hands of the usurping Zionists with the United States’ greenlight. The assassination once again put the Zionist regime’s bestial nature on display” Iran’s intelligence minister Ismail Khatib added.
«Throughout decades, Washington has unexceptionally defended the regime against punitive international measures, served as its biggest arms purveyor, and provided it with close intelligence cooperation toward both protecting it and facilitating its desired atrocities», pointed out PRESS TV.
Former Lebanese MP: “Attacks decided by Netanyahu”
A former Lebanese lawmaker says Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to the US featured coordination between Tel Aviv and Washington concerning assassination operations against senior resistance figures.
Naser Kandeel made the remarks in a post on X on Wednesday, referring to last week’s visit to Washington by the Israeli prime minister, followed shortly thereafter in Beirut by the Israeli army’s assassination of Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking commander of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
“The outcome of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington: Coordinating the assassination operations of leaders between American and Israeli intelligence,” Kandeel wrote.
