Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, was arrested around 8:00 p.m. on Augiust 25, 2024 while getting off his private jet at Le Bourget airport in Paris. Durov, a 39-year-old French-Russian, was arriving from Azerbaijan, accompanied by his bodyguard and a woman, apparently his girlfriend, when he was caught by the gendarmes of the GTA (Air Transport Gendarmerie).
A search warrant had been issued against him by the French National Directorate of the Judicial Police, issued on the basis of a preliminary investigation.

An American journalist has defined his arrest as a form of techno-fascism since he was arrested for generic charges related to the fact that he did not spy on the social accounts of the Telegram platform and did not apply the stringent censorship desired by the mainstream on sensitive issues such as the Covid-19 emergency, the genocide in Gaza and the war started by NATO in Ukraine after the 2014 Kiev coup.
He is accused of spreading child pornography: a practice also widespread on Mark Zuclerberg’s Facebook who, having censored all information on the damage of Big Pharma’s Covid vaccines, has not suffered any legal action for the 146 pedophile groups discovered by the anti-pedophilia association Meter and not by the META analysts in charge of controlling the standard policy who apply censorship at will…

Durov released by Court after Bail and Forbidden of Leave France
Co-founder of the Telegram messenger app Pavel Durov has left the court building after being charged with numerous offences related to Telegram administration, a TASS correspondent reported.
He left the territory of the court in a black minivan. Journalists waiting outside the court building failed to reach him for comments.
Earlier, the court charged him with six offences out of 12 named previously, the capital prosecutor’s office said in a statement. The charges include the refusal to cooperate with the authorities, complicity in dissemination of child pornography, complicity in drug trafficking and in a fraud, committed within an organized group. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, he may face a prison term of up to ten years and a fine of 500,000 euro.
The judge in charge of Durov’s case placed him under judicial control with an obligation to post a bail of 5 million euros, to report to the police station twice a week and he is forbidden to leave the territory of France.

He is accused of complicity in multiple very serious international crimes without direct evidence of connivance but simply because he did not censor content that was against the mainstream – as Zuckerberg did with Meta – and did not allow law enforcement to spy on Telegram platform members who, if the social tycoon were found guilty, could risk closure.
Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatyana Moskalkova, said that her arrest was “an attempt to close an internet platform where people can learn the truth about what is happening in the world”.

As is happening in Spain, where in March a judge of the Spanish National Court ordered the application to be blocked nationwide after a lawsuit filed by Mediaset, Atresmedia and Movistar for copyright infringement.
Telegram had remained active, however, announcing an appeal to the European Court of Justice.
Also the municipality of Amsterdam has barred its civil servants from using the encrypted messaging service Telegram on their work phones, citing alleged criminal activities on the app and the risk of espionage, the radio broadcaster BNR reported on Monday, August, 19, 2024.
A spokesperson for Amsterdam IT councilor Alexander Scholtes confirmed the move to BNR, stating that the ban was enacted in late April but had not been publicly communicated.
Telegram slams accusations of ‘abuse of platform’ against its owner as absurd
“Telegram abides by EU laws, including the Digital Services Act — its moderation is within industry standards and constantly improving,” it said on the Telegram News channel. “Telegram’s CEO Pavel Durov has nothing to hide and travels frequently in Europe.”
“It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform,” it stressed.
“Almost a billion users globally use Telegram as means of communication and as a source of vital information. We’re awaiting a prompt resolution of this situation,” it added.
Arrested for Lack of Censorship on Social Media
In France, the judiciary believes that the lack of moderation, cooperation with law enforcement and the tools offered (disposable number, cryptocurrency exchange, etc.) make the platform complicit in the illegal activities that take place there, from drug trafficking to fraud. The execution of the warrant was conditional on Durov’s presence on French soil.
“He made a mistake tonight. We don’t know why… Was it just a stopover? In any case, he was caught,” a source close to the investigation confided to Tf1. Durov had in fact avoided traveling to Europe as much as possible, where his company is in the crosshairs, and was in the habit of traveling to the Emirates, the countries of the former Soviet Union or South America.
Durov is expected to appear before a judge in the next few hours before a possible indictment for a multitude of crimes: terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering, receiving stolen goods, juvenile criminal content.
But no one has dreamed of arresting Mark Zuckerberg for hundreds of child pornography groups discovered on Facebook not by his social media staff but by the Meter association led by Italian priest Don Fortunato di Noto.
It should be remembered that for years now the social networks of the Meta group (Facebook and WhatsApp) have been the subject of detailed journalistic investigations as they allow international police bodies, in particular the American FBI but also the CIA counterespionage, to spy on users’ content without any judicial authorization and therefore in clear violation of all privacy laws.
Google and YouTube, during the Covid-19 pandemic emergency, also allowed the monitoring and censorship of accounts and information sources such as Gospa News which spread documented and detailed news on laboratory SARS-Cov-2 and the dangerousness of mRNA gene serums.
Similar censorship on LinkedIn (also against the director of Gospa News) which in December 2016 was acquired by Microsoft, sanctioning the union between the world leader in corporate cloud services and the leader in professional social networks.

Such censored information was later confirmed by the most important institutions in the world such as the US Congress on the artificial origin of the virus and as some American states that have started specific investigations on the ineffectiveness and damages of Covid vaccines.
The arrest of the founder of Telegram represents the latest act of the mainstream governed by Bill Gates, which controls the USA, Italy and NATO through artificial intelligence services in the military and health sectors, in view of the arrival of vaccine passports and the next pandemics planned with laboratory-enhanced viruses such as SARS-Cov-2, avian flu and monkeypox.

‘Darkness descending’: Tucker Carlson reacts to reports of Durov’s arrest

The arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France is a warning to platforms that stand up to censorship, American journalist and political commentator Tucker Carlson has said.
According to French media, the Russian-born entrepreneur was detained at Paris-Le Bourget Airport on Saturday and will appear in court on Sunday evening. The French authorities had reportedly issued an arrest warrant, arguing that insufficient moderation allows for Telegram to be widely used by criminals.
The news of Durov’s apparent prosecution has raised concerns online, including suggestions that it could be politically motivated.
“Pavel Durov left Russia when the government tried to control his social media company, Telegram. But in the end, it wasn’t Putin who arrested him for allowing the public to exercise free speech,” Carlson wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. “It was a Western country, a Biden administration ally and enthusiastic NATO member, that locked him away.”
Durov’s arrest is “a living warning to any platform owner who refuses to censor the truth at the behest of governments and intel agencies,” Carlson argued. “Darkness is descending fast on the formerly free world.”
Carlson recorded a rare interview with Durov in April, in which the Telegram owner spoke about his disagreements with the Russian government, as well as the pressure he faced in the US. He said that the American government had wanted him to set up a surveillance “backdoor” on his messaging service, and he refused.
X owner Elon Musk also condemned the reported arrest. “POV: It’s 2030 in Europe and you’re being executed for liking a meme,” he wrote in a comment to the news story.

Russian Embassy in France clarifies situation around Durov’s detention — Foreign Ministry
The Russian Embassy in France took necessary steps to clarify the situation around the detention of Pavel Durov, although his representative have not contacted the mission, the Russian Foreign Ministry told TASS.
“In regards to the information about Durov’s detention, the Russian embassy in France immediately took steps, necessary in such situation, in order to clarify the situation around a Russian citizen, although the businessman’s representatives filed no application,” the Foreign Ministry said, adding that this work started before Russian State Duma Deputy Speaker Vladislav Davankov contacted the Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, Davankov contacted Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with a request to seek Durov’s release.
