In recent days, the Russian president Vladimir Putin announced a severe punishment against Ukraine for the invasion in the Kursk region where the Russian army is slowly eliminating all Kiev’s troops.
After the attacks on Ukrainian power plants that left Kiev and other major cities in the dark for many hours, here is a powerful surgical attack that has literally swept away a military barracks that also housed instructors from various NATO countries.
The news was spread with emphasis by Western media and confirmed in the evening also by Russia authorities.
Russia provides details of strike on Ukrainian military training center
Moscow’s forces have carried out a high-precision strike on a Ukrainian training center in the city of Poltava, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Wednesday. The facility was housing a number of foreign instructors who were training Kiev’s troops in communication, electronic warfare, and drone operation, according to Moscow.

The strike was initially reported by Ukrainian officials, who stated on Tuesday that two Russian Iskander ballistic missiles had hit the School of Military Communication and Information Technology, resulting in the nearly 300 casualties, including nearly 50 killed.
In the latest reports the death toll has risen further.
Acconrding to Avia.Pro, the number of victims from the missile attack by Russian troops on the Signal Corps training center in Poltava has reached 215 people, sources reported. Among the injured are 340 people, including several dozen foreign instructors from NATO countries such as Poland, France, Sweden and Germany.
The attack was carried out on military unit A3990, where the 128th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was based.
While the Russian Defense Ministry did not initially comment on the attack, it confirmed the strike in an update on Telegram on Wednesday. It said Russian forces had conducted “a high-precision strike on the 179th Joint Training Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Poltava” on September 3.
The ministry added that foreign instructors had been preparing specialists in communications and electronic warfare at the facility, as well as operators of unmanned aerial vehicles participating in strikes on civilian targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Previously, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo had also claimed in an interview with RIA Novosti that the training center had effectively served as a base for NATO instructors, and was being used to train newly mobilized Ukrainians who had recently been “caught on the streets.”
Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has used the attack on the center to demand more air-defense systems from his Western backers.
Meanwhile, the New York Times has claimed that the strike was a “demoralizing blow to Ukraine,” given how Kiev’s troops were already retreating from relentless Russian advances along the main front in Donbass.
Kremlin: “Russia effectively fighting foreign military instructors in Ukraine”
While there is a large number of foreign military instructors in Ukraine, Russia has been increasingly effective in countering them, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Izvestia on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
“We do know that there are military instructors from across the globe in Ukraine and that they are taking part in the hostilities and playing an important role in training Ukrainian soldiers. Foreign countries are definitely involved in the conflict. This is not news. Our troops have been increasingly effective in hitting these goals,” he said.
This has contributed to pushing through with the special military operation and achieving the goals set by the Russian leadership, Peskov maintained.
Meanwhile, the Kiev regime has no morals, he noted. “While our forces continue to target military goals only, the Kiev regime has been using cluster munitions for attacks against residential neighborhoods and purely civilian targets,” the Russian presidential spokesman lamented. “Therefore, we need to further improve efficiency, increase pressure and move forward,” he concluded.
Russian diplomat points to EU’s likely involvement in planning attack on Kursk Region
The EU may have been in some way engaged in plotting the Ukrainian attack on Russia’s borderline Kursk Region, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
“Under the pretext of the right to self-defense and citing the UN Charter, the European Union, with a perseverance, worthy of a better cause, justifies any terror attacks, war crimes, slaughter and kidnapping of civilians, sexual violence against women committed by militants and mercenaries of the puppet Kiev regime. Judging by remarks by Josep Borrell, the European Union is fully informed about the Ukrainian army’s actions in the Kursk Region.
This may be an indication that the EU was one way or another engaged in the process related to planning and carrying out the attack on the Russian region,” the Russian diplomat said in a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.
A massive attack on the Kursk Region by the Ukrainian army was launched on August 6. A federal emergency situation regime has been declared in the region, as well as multiple air raid alerts.
Residents from borderline districts are being evacuated to safety. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, over 10,000 evacuees, including more than 2,700 children, have been housed at 200 temporary accommodation centers in 31 Russian regions.
