They were Israeli Air Force F-15I (or F16I) jets that took off from Hatzerim Air Base with 6 x GBU-31(V)3/B bunker-buster bombs that carried out the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut on Friday.
US-made GBU-31(V)3/B uses the BLU-109 warhead, which is a 2,000-pound penetrating bomb designed to penetrate hardened structures. BLU is acronym of Bomb Live Unit, is a free-fall penetration bomb (guided when equipped as JDAM or Paveway). The BLU-109/B has a steel casing about 1 inch (25 mm) thick. Its warhead is filled with 550 pounds (250 kg) of Tritonal. It has a mechanical-electrical delayed-action FMU-143 tail-fuze.
Tritonal is a mixture of 80% TNT and 20% aluminium powder, used in several types of ordnance such as air-dropped bombs. The aluminium increases the total heat output and hence impulse of the TNT – the length of time during which the blast wave is positive. Tritonal is approximately 18% more powerful than TNT alone.

AlsoWashington Post reported that «Israel likely used United States-made 900kg (2,000-pound) bombs in the strike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and levelled residential buildings in Beirut’s southern suburbs earlier this week».
Citing three experts who analysed videos of Friday’s strikes, posted by the Israeli Air Force, the Post said on Sunday that at least some of the bombs were US-made “BLU-109s and JDAM guidance kits”.
BLU-109s are bunker-buster heavy bombs and JDAM kits are guidance systems that attach to munitions to help attack a specific target.
A 2,000-pound bomb has a destruction radius of 35 metres (115 feet), according to the Project on Defense Alternatives (PDA), which conducts defence policy research and analysis.
Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s longtime chief, was killed in Friday’s strike on the group’s underground headquarters. Israel dropped what local media said were “bunker-busting” bombs and flattened about six buildings, while trying to kill Nasrallah.
According to Aiforce Technology, since 2012 US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of the foreign military sale of joint direct attack munitions (JDAM) tail kits and associated parts to the Government of Israel.
During thi time Israel has requested for the supply thousands and thousands of US-made bombs, only in 2012 JDAM tail kits (, which includes 3,450 JDAM anti-jam KMU-556 (GBU-31) for MK-84 warheads, 1,725 KMU-557 (GBU-31) for BLU-109 warheads and 1,725 KMU-572 (GBU-38) for MK-82 warheads.
Additional deliveries included 3,450 MK-84 2,000lb general purpose bombs, 1,725 MK-82 500lb general purpose bombs, 1,725 BLU-109 bombs, 3,450 GBU-39 small diameter bombs, as well as 11,500 FMU-139, FMU-143 and FMU-152 fuses.

In an interview with the TRT broadcaster on Saturday, Fidan addressed the recent Israeli airstrike on Beirut, Lebanon that killed Hezbollah political leader Hassan Nasrallah. He added that recent events have shown that Türkiye’s worst fears about the Middle East conflict spilling over beyond the Palestinian enclave of Gaza have come true.
“In other words, we said that if Israel is not stopped, it will carry this war to other places… It seems that there is a serious desire in Israel, among [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his team, to expand the war to the region, and they are trying to advance this,” he said.
He went on to accuse the US of turning a blind eye to West Jerusalem’s actions, claiming that “Zionism has taken root in American politics.”
“The fact that the entire power of the American state has been transformed into a structure that serves Israel… is no longer a disturbing issue here, but has become an accepted fact of life. This, of course, makes sane Americans incredibly uncomfortable,” Fidan said.

Hezbollah chooses Hashim Safi Al Din as Hassan Nasrallah’s successor
Sources in Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath confirmed that Hezbollah’s Shura Council has chosen Hashim Safi Al Din as the Lebanese group’s secretary general to replace Hassan Nasrallah.
«Safieddine (Safi Al-Din), a cousin of Nasrallah, was notably one of the senior leaders who were not present at the site of the strike that killed several top Hezbollah commanders» Iran Insight writes.
Hashem Safieddine, born in 1964 in Deir Qanoun en-Nahr, a village near Tyre in southern Lebanon, studied theology alongside Hassan Nasrallah in Najaf, Iraq, and Qom, Iran—both major centers of Shia religious education. They became members of Hezbollah in its formative years.
A senior figure within Hezbollah, Safieddine heads the group’s executive council. His family is well-regarded in Shia circles and includes several religious scholars and politicians. His brother, Abdullah, represents Hezbollah in Iran, and his son Redha is married to the daughter of the late Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian general killed in a US drone strike in 2020.
All Hezbollah Late Commanders Replaced: Ex-IRGC Quds Force Chief

In an interview with Tasnim, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Hezbollah has the necessary capacities in terms of human resources to find replacements for the deceased commanders such as Fuad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, or Ali Karki.
“I have information that new people have replaced the (Hezbollah) commanders as soon as they were martyred. Today, one can say that no commanding position in the command chart of Lebanon’s Hezbollah remains vacant, as all (deceased) commanders have been replaced. As an informed person, I’d emphasize that all (Hezbollah) commanders have been replaced and are doing their job vigorously,” he said.
The Iranian general stated that the new generation of pious, innovative, and courageous commanders of Hezbollah has already begun to deal consecutive blows to the Zionist regime instantly and powerfully.

He added that Israel’s Friday terrorist attack on the Dahiyeh area in the south of Lebanon’s capital Beirut and the martyrdom of prominent figures of the resistance movement, particularly Nasrallah, will further strengthen the “tree of resistance.”
The Iranian president noted that the Hezbollah leader was the pride of Muslims and the symbol of resistance and finally achieved his long-standing dream – martyrdom. Pezeshkian said words cannot describe his bravery and continuous efforts to fight the enemies and added that Hezbollah will further shine after Nasrallah’s assassination.
Ayatollah Khamenei: Resistance will deal more crushing blows to ‘decaying body’ of Israel
Iranian Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the resistance front will deal more crushing blows on the “dilapidated and decaying body” of the Zionist regime, as reported by PRESS TV.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the statement in a message of condolences on Saturday over the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah The Leader declared five days of national mourning following the martyrdom of the Hezbollah chief.
The Leader said the foundation that Nasrallah established in Lebanon and provided direction to other centers of power will not disappear with his loss but will be strengthened by blood of the Hezbollah chief and other martyrs of the Beirut attack.
Ayatollah Khamenei described Nasrallah as a great fighter, the bearer of the resistance in the region, a religious scholar and a wise political leader who was martyred in the last night events in Lebanon.

Nasrallah fought for decades to defend the oppressed Palestinian people, their occupied cities and villages, destroyed homes, and their slaughtered loved ones, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
“The blessing of martyrdom was his undeniable right after all these efforts,” the Leader emphasized. The Leader, however emphasized, the blessings of decades of Nasrallah’s prudence and jihad will never be lost.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the evil Zionist regime failed to achieve victory in this incident.

Six buildings in Beirut destroyed in a few seconds by tons of explosives dropped by the Israeli air force in an attempt to kill Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hebollah, the Party of God that with 15 representatives elected in 2022 is a legitimate member of the National Assembly of Lebanon.
A few moments ago the Iranian network PRESS TV relaunched an official statement:
«The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has confirmed the assassination of its secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, which occurred following massive Israeli air strikes against residential buildings in southern Beirut»
The heavy Israeli attacks south of the capital did not only hit Hezbollah buildings and leaders.
Dozens of civilian buildings were razed and thousands of residents of the densely populated southern suburbs were forced to flee, camping in other neighborhoods, including the Lebanese capital’s waterfront. According to a still very approximate toll, six people were killed and 91 others injured in the bombings.
The Lebanese state news agency also reports the deaths of 11 doctors, nurses and paramedics. According to PRESS TV, the death toll could be as high as 300 (details below)
Netanyahu Demon’s Accomplices Cursed by God

Israel does not care, as always, about the “collateral damage” caused to the inhabitants of Beirut that has yet to be defined given the size of the explosions.
The spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces is only concerned with communicating that Nasralah was killed in the military operation together with a command group that had met with him.
This confirms once again how many powerful infiltrators of the Israeli counterintelligence of the MOSSAD there are in Islamic groups such as Hezbollah, which is considered a terrorist organization by the USA and Israel because of its paramilitary Brigade Kata’ib Hezbollah but not by the UN and the EU that have however condemned some of its actions of a terrorist nature.
Netanyahu Does Not Even Care About Israeli Victims
For hours there has been a suspicious silence from the Iranian and Lebanese media on the alleged disappearance of Nasrallah.
They limited themselves to reporting the attack in Beirut as a serious and powerful aggression but they cite it among other attacks, then reporting the launches of missiles in the areas of the Israeli Occupied Territories, less protected by the Iron Dome system and therefore more exposed to the risk of victims among the settlers that Netanyahu’s genocidal strategy in Gaza and now in Lebanon is causing.
Then, a few hours ago, the official note from Hezbollah arrived on the death of the leader Nasrallah.
The escalation in Lebanon began after the explosion of many sabotaged pagers that were in the hands of Hezbollah militants. An attack of evident terrorist origin that Israel has not claimed although all the media, even mainstream ones, have indicated the Mossad as the culprit.
As a perfectly perverse and diabolical mind that uses the Semitic culture and the Shoah as ideological shields to justify his policy aimed at rebuilding the Greater Israel of the instead very merciful King David, to whom a wicked American Baptist pastor compared him, he is in fact completely careless even of the victims among his compatriots.
As usual, the IDF justified its action by claiming that not only were Hezbollah commanders in the buildings hit but they were also a weapons depot.
It is the same motivation with which they devastated 21 schools in Gaza in the last month that had become shelters for families but were pointed out as Hamas dens.
“The enemy’s claims about the presence of weapons or weapons caches in civilian buildings targeted by the bombings in the southern suburb are false,” the Lebanese resistance movement’s media relations office said in a statement Saturday after the Israeli military said it had conducted strikes targeting “weapons belonging to Hezbollah… that were stored under civilian buildings” in southern Beirut.
300 Casualties: Bloody massacre in Beirut ‘changes rules of game’: Iran
Iran’s Embassy in Lebanon has described Israel’s Friday strikes on the outskirts of the capital Beirut as a serious game-changing escalation, warning that the occupying regime will face punishment over the bloody onslaught, according to Iranian PRESS TV.
The West, which continues to support Zionist genocide in the Holy Land, if it does not care about divine judgment, should still remember that Iran can now be considered a nuclear power and is already certainly in possession of some atomic warheads that it can place on its hypersonic basilar missiles, as also feared by the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Israeli warplanes carried out more than 30 airstrikes on Friday, targeting residential buildings in the areas of Burj al-Barajneh, Kafaat, Choueifat, Hadath, al-Laylaki, and Mreijeh.
In an intense bombardment, the occupation laid waste to several building blocks in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district under the pretext of striking a depot of missiles belonging to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, with local media reporting upwards of 300 casualties as a result of the aggression.
“Once again, the Israeli regime is committing a bloody massacre, targeting densely populated residential neighborhoods and making false justifications in an attempt to cover up its brutal crime,” the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon said in a post on its X account.
“There is no doubt that this reprehensible crime and reckless behavior represent a serious escalation that changes the rules of the game, and that its perpetrator will be appropriately punished and disciplined.”
In a strong repudiation of the Israeli claims, Hezbollah’s media office issued a statement and said the resistance movement “denies the Israeli occupation’s false claims about the presence of weapons or weapons stores in the civilian buildings it targeted in the southern suburbs of Beirut.”
Massive Beirut Port Blast in Suspected 2020’s Attack
The bombing in Beirut has brought back to life for Muslim and Christian Lebanese (about a third of the population believe in Jesus Christ) the nightmare of the terrible explosion in the port of the capital on August 4, 2020.
218 people were killed and 7,000 others were injured. Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud estimated that up to 300,000 people were left homeless by the disaster, or about 2/3 of the city’s population. The Lebanese government had declared a two-week state of emergency in the city.
The main explosion was linked to the detonation of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that had been confiscated in 2014 by the Lebanese government from the abandoned ship MV Rhosus and stored in the port without safety measures until the day of the disaster
Despite the inefficient transmission of shock waves, the explosion was detected as a seismic event of magnitude 3.3 by the United States Geological Survey.
The peculiar thermal rings formed in the sky led many military analysts to believe it was a deflagration powered by a small nuclear charge and therefore attributable to a missile or a bomb. Various political authorities have indicated that Mossad intelligence was responsible.
Even a Zionist politician supported this thesis saying he would be happy if it had been the work of Israel.
