The anti-government militants and jihadists who toppled President Bashar Assad’s government in Syria have guaranteed the security of Russia’s military bases and diplomatic outposts in the country, a Kremlin source has reportedly told TASS news agency.
Syria’s armed opposition has full control of the Latakia province where Russian military bases are located, a local source told TASS.
No plans of Syrian Rebels to penetrate the Russian military bases in
According to him, armed units entered the cities of Tartus and Jableh after the opposition announced the ousting of Syrian President Bashar Assad. The source also stressed that opposition members had not penetrated Russia’s bases in Tartus and Hmeimim.
“Yesterday, the opposition took full control of the Latakia province, including the cities of Tartus and Jableh. The opposition’s armed forces did not and have no plans to penetrate the Russian military bases, which continue to operate normally,” he noted.
Eye witnesses told TASS on Sunday that armed opposition members had entered Jableh. According to a source, militants reached the city center on December 8, firing into the air, but did not threaten Russian service members.
Speaking to TASS later on Sunday, an unnamed Kremlin source said that Russian officials “are in contact with representatives of the armed Syrian opposition.”
These representatives “have guaranteed the security of Russian military bases and diplomatic institutions on Syrian territory,” the source said, adding that “we hope for the continuation of political dialogue in the name of the interests of the Syrian people and the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Syria.”
The Doha secret Deals to Fall of Assad for Ukraine
This means that at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Russia held in Qatar, the permanence of Russian bases on Syrian territory was agreed as a condition for the Syrian Army to renounce the defense of Damascus and the consequent flight into exile of the legitimately elected President Bashar Al Assad.
This stratagem has spared the lives of tens of thousands of civilians who would have been used as hostages by the jihadists in the cities they had raided (Aleppo, Hama and Homs) before reaching Damascus.
Given the close ties of the Muslim Brotherhood that supports the Turkish party AKP of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Western Freemasonry, highlighted by Gospa News in the previous juncheiste on NATO Jihads, it is really impossible to predict how long Turkey will preserve the Russian bases in the Mediterranean Sea from the imminent jihadist devastation.
Certainly the fall of Assad in Syria will strengthen Russia’s military hegemony in Ukraine.
Kremlin: “Decision to grant asylum to Assad, his family, was made by Putin”
The decision to grant asylum in Russia to Bashar Assad and his family was made by President Vladimir Putin, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“Such decisions certainly cannot be made without the head of state. It was his decision,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesman noted, however, that no official statements had been made on the matter. “A source provided the information [to the media] yesterday,” he said, noting that he had nothing to add.
Kremlin comments on fate of Russian military bases in Syria
«The Kremlin has said it is too early to determine the future of Russia’s military bases in Khmeimim and Tartus, Syria. Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stressed that discussions about the bases will depend on the new leaders of Syria» RT has reported.
“Currently, we are witnessing a period of transformation and extreme instability,” Peskov told journalists on Monday. He noted that the recent developments in Syria have surprised the world, including Russia. “It will take time before we can engage in serious conversations with those who hold power.”
Russian military forces are present in Syria at Khmeimim Airbase and a logistics support center in Tartus, located in the western part of the country along the Mediterranean coast. In 2017, Moscow and Damascus agreed to station Russian troops at these bases for a period of 49 years.
