Anti-aircraft defense destroyed all five missiles. However, due to the falling fragments of the downed missiles, there were damages, at least one dead and 9 injured.
The Russian military claims to have launched a strike on Ukraine in “response” to what they say was a bombardment by Kiev forces with American Atacms and British Storm Shadow missiles on the Russian region of Rostov-on-Don.
The Russian Defense Ministry claims to have hit a command center of the Ukrainian security services, a missile design bureau and positions of the “Patriot” air defense systems.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the statement that a war has been declared on the “Russian world,” echoing the remarks made by the leaders of the Duma factions at a State Council meeting at the Kremlin.
“Colleagues have spoken, asserting that a war has been declared on the ‘Russian world,’ and I agree — it is indeed so,” Putin said in his closing remarks.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen denounced a “heinous attack” on Friday after Russian strikes damaged six diplomatic missions in Kiev, including that of Portugal. “Another despicable attack in Kiev. The secretary general also stated that the frontline keeps moving westward instead of the other way around, and claimed that changing this trend should be NATO’s main priority.
