TRUMP’s Moves vs the PEACE. Summit for NATO Troops in Ukraine. US Sanctions on Russia Extended. Weapons to Kiev through Secret Military Flights in Poland

Putin: Western elites are trying to sabotage Russia-US dialogue
“The first contacts with the administration of US President Donald Trump inspire some hope,” Vladimir Putin said, quoted by the state agency Ria Novosti, during an extended meeting of the FSB board, the intelligence agency that inherited the Soviet KGB, before accusing: “Western elites are determined to maintain instability in the world and will try to sabotage the dialogue between Russia and the United States.”
The Russian president added that cyber attacks against Russia are on the rise and that Moscow must strengthen its counterintelligence efforts. Furthermore, “over the past year, the number of terrorist crimes has increased, and more than half of them were planned and organized by Ukrainian special services and their protectors.”
Trump’s Suspected Double-Game with Moscow
But this is nothing compared to the three moves by US President Donald Trump who seems to want to continue playing a double game. In words he continues to declare that he wants peace but in reality he seems to be going in the opposite direction as if the New York tycoon was only interested in reiterating to NATO allies his role as the new “emperor” of the West.
“I tried to put pressure on Putin and Zelensky to reach peace”, and “I also spoke with the Secretary General of NATO”. Because “to reach peace you cannot talk to only one side”. The next step, the US president said, will be “a very achievable ceasefire”. Trump said he hoped that “it can happen quickly”.
The US president, during the press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, also added that “either the truce in Ukraine will happen soon or it will not happen at all”.
He ruled out the possibility of Ukraine joining the Atlantic Alliance as desired by President Volodymyr Zelensky, a circumstance that would automatically trigger “Article 5 of NATO” according to which there is a mutual commitment of the parties to consider an armed attack against one or more of them as an attack directed against all of them.
On the other hand, in the meeting with Starmer he did not rule out the possibility of the deployment of troops from the Atlantic countries on Ukrainian territory, despite Russia having already expressed its adamant “no” on this point.
This harmony reinvigorates the alliance between Washington and London, which in recent months had formed a worrying alliance on nuclear missiles just as the United Kingdom has been considering providing them to Zelensky for months as requested by the latter…
It should not be forgotten that Trump has chosen Susie Wiles, an expert lobbyist who is strongly intrigued by arms corporations, to lead the White House Staff.
NATO allies give more money for defense, US sanctions on Russia extended
Furthermore, the statement by the NATO secretary general after the meeting with the American president is against any possibility of a truce…
“It was great talking to Donald Trump. The United States and NATO are becoming stronger. NATO allies are moving quickly to invest more in defense. Big increases announced and more to follow. On Ukraine, allies are preparing billions more in aid and contributions to security guarantees”.
This was written on X by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is known for having financed, as Dutch Prime Minister, together with his friend George Soros and the USA, the 2014 coup in Kiev that triggered the Civil War in Donbass and the current international conflict.
Furthermore, it certainly does not appear to be a sign of relaxation in diplomatic relations between Washington and Moscow, which immediately dropped in quality and intensity after the first summit in Riyadh, the fact that US President Donald Trump has extended for one year certain sanctions introduced against Russia earlier in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the White House said in released documents.
Restrictions introduced by Washington against Moscow by previous administrations in executive orders in 2014, 2018 and 2022 and pertaining to reunification with Crimea and to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics are meant. These restrictive measures “must continue in effect beyond March 6, 2025,” Trump said according to TASS Russian News Agency.
Donald Trump has called the agreement on minerals (defined as rare earths) a ‘backstop’, a sort of guarantee for the security of Ukraine. The word is the one used by some European leaders, including Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer, to describe the security guarantee they would like from the United States to support a contingent of European-led troops. The signing of the agreement will take place today, Friday 28 February, on the occasion of Zelensky’s visit to the White House.
THE FAR PEACE! Kremlin contradicts Trump on ‘NATO troops in Ukraine’. Kiev Agrees to US Mineral Deal
The economic and mineral partnership agreement between the United States and Ukraine that will be signed this week does not include any guarantee of financing for future Ukrainian wars or for the commitment of American soldiers. This was reported by the British agency Reuters, citing a senior official of the Trump administration.
Trump Continues to Supply Weapons to Ukraine
But in fact, American weapons continue to reach Ukraine contrary to what the US president declared.
“The Polish city of Rzeszow has become a key hub for the delivery of military aid to Ukraine, as evidenced by the intense flow of transport aircraft recorded as part of the so-called “Ukrainian Express”. According to the latest data, since the beginning of February 2025, at least 54 commercial Boeing flights have landed at the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport, departing from air bases in the United States and the Arabian Peninsula,” reports Avia.Pro, a Russian geopolitical site.

US military transport aircraft were also heavily involved: C-17A and C-130 aircraft made at least 10 flights from US, European and Middle Eastern bases. Added to this were six flights of Ukrainian An-124s, which took off from air bases in the United States to deliver goods to this strategic point in eastern Poland.
Military Aircraft Traffic at the Logistics Depot in Poland Used by NATO Countries
Particular attention was paid to the activity of the Canadian Air Force, which became evident starting on February 10. C-130J transport aircraft from the Karup air base in Denmark made at least 11 flights to Rzeszow, a phenomenon never seen before on such a large scale. Experts speculate that Canadian forces are transporting US military equipment that arrived in Europe by sea to Poland, via Karup, and then on to Ukraine. The route indirectly points to the expansion of logistics chains in which Canada plays an intermediary role, strengthening support for Kiev in the context of the ongoing conflict.
Rzeszow, located just 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, has long been a major logistical hub for Western aid. In 2024, the intensity has only increased: American C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and Boeing 747 commercial aircraft from Atlas Air and Kalitta Air have become regular guests.
In January 2025, three Boeing 747s leased by USTRANSCOM delivered another batch of weapons to Rzeszow, including HIMARS missiles and spare parts for F-16s, as part of a $500 million aid package signed by the Biden administration. Total U.S. military support has exceeded $65 billion and continues to grow.

Canada’s involvement in the “Ukrainian Express” adds a new dimension to the operation. According to Flightradar24, the C-130J flights from Karup began following the arrival of large cargoes from the United States in Northern European ports, supporting the theory of a seaborne delivery scheme.
