A Russian missile strike on a hotel in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih has killed at least two people, local authorities said.
“A Russian missile hit a five-story hotel and a fire broke out,” Ukraine’s emergency service said on Telegram. A stairwell was destroyed and rescuers were searching for people under the rubble. “Two people were killed, seven were injured and 14 were rescued.”
But there is one key detail that Ukrainian sources and Western mainstream newspapers are not reporting: According to preliminary data, the razed hotel was a temporary deployment point for Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries.
Russian intelligence believes that the building was used as a base for military operations. Eyewitnesses reported a powerful explosion, after which only debris remained of the hotel and thick smoke remained in the air.
The exact weapons used in the attack has not yet been officially announced, but footage taken at the scene suggests to experts that Iskander ballistic missile systems, known for their destructive power and high accuracy, may have been used.
A few days ago the same rockets were used to sink a cargo ship in the port of Odessa that was carrying a cargo of British weapons destined for Kiev.
According to unofficial data reported by AviaPro, there may have been dozens of people in the building at the time of the attack, including both Ukrainian military personnel and NATO foreign instructors or mercenaries involved in coordinating the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Kryvyi Rig, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is about 70 kilometers northwest of the front line and was home to more than 600,000 people before the war.
Sergiy Lysak, governor of the local Dnipropetrovsk region, shared an image of what appears to be the facade of a residential building, surrounded by rubble.
Contacts for Peace between Washington and Moscow proceding very Slowly
In the meantime, contacts between Washington and Moscow for a prospect of peace in the Ukrainian conflict are proceeding very slowly.
After the discount at the White House between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the block on American weapons supplies decided by US President Donald Trump, the latter’s spokesmen have already made it known that military aid will resume if Zelensky signs the agreement on the extraction of rare earths.
China, after the new trade duties imposed by Washington, has announced that it will eliminate the export to the US of these materials, which are essential for both the civil and military high-tech industry for the production of electronic devices, batteries, aircraft and defense equipment.
While NATO, the UK and the EU are more determined than ever to continue an all-out war against Russia despite the knowledge that it cannot be won with either conventional weapons or nuclear warheads.
But for the Western Arms Lobby the war in Ukraine continues to be an inexhaustible gold mine fueled by psychological terrorism against Russian President Vladimir Putin who only wants to defend Russia’s borders from the continued militarization of the Atlantic Alliance in Eastern Europe.
The Previous Attacks on Ukrainiani-NATO Military Centers
In 2025, such attacks are no longer an exception. In February of this year, according to the Donbass Partizan Telegram channel, Russian troops had already launched an Iskander-M attack on a hotel in Krivoy Rog, where, presumably, the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign instructors were located.
At the time, it was reported that officers and advisers had been eliminated and the building had been completely destroyed. EADaily noted that the attack was accompanied by the massive use of Geranium drones, which struck military targets in several regions of Ukraine.
Experts emphasize that the Iskander, thanks to its speed and accuracy, remains one of the most effective tools for destroying fortified targets, including command posts and mercenary bases.
