Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem: “Hunger as a weapon of war”

Thus the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pier Battista Pizzaballa, on SkyTg24 regarding the situation in Gaza.
On the fact that it can be defined as genocide or a war crime, Pizzaballa said that “everyone has their own definition”, what is certain is that what is happening in Gaza “is inconceivable. The solution can only be political”.
The Catholic cardinal’s comment came after the news that US President Donald Trump, despite his usual schizophrenic statements on international geopolitics, confirmed his complicity in the genocide of the Zionist regime of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been hit by an international arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court in The Hague for war crimes.

The United States on Wednesday vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, saying it would embolden Hamas militants.
Despite many international journalistic investigations have pointed out that the terrorist organization of Sunni jihadists that controls the Strip was actually financed by the USA and piloted by secret agents infiltrated by the CIA and Mossad precisely to provoke serious terrorist acts, such as the massacre and kidnappings of October 7, 2023, aimed at justifying the depopulation of the Palestinians and the projects on the exploitation of the Marine Gaza gas field……
All 14 other council members voted in favor of the resolution, which called the humanitarian situation in Gaza “catastrophic” and called on Israel to lift all restrictions on the delivery of aid to the 2.1 million Palestinians in the territory.
Potus Trump’s willingness to support the Zionist Lobby, the main investor in the arms industries that led the Republican president to victory, has proven to be stronger than the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza, which in recent days has shot at crowds queuing for the distribution of food aid by the newly formed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
On Wednesday alone, another 95 Palestinians, including many women and children, were killed in various attacks by the Israeli Defense Forces.

Various UN officials, Amnesty International and even Doctors Without Borders have condemned these actions as “war crimes” or “inhuman acts” calling for immediate international investigations.
This has also supported suspicions that the newly formed NGO GHF, created by the Israelis and Americans to wrest control of humanitarian aid from Hamas, is really a tool of Israeli counter-espionage, the Mossad, and the American CIA, to plot ambushes against the population aimed at the total depopulation of the Gaza Strip.
Acting US Ambassador Dorothy Shea, speaking to the council immediately before the vote, said the resolution would undermine Israel’s security.

But the US veto – the fifth since the start of the war – was harshly criticized by other council members, who accused the United States of granting impunity to Israel. China’s ambassador to the United Nations said Israel’s actions had “crossed every red line” of international humanitarian law and seriously violated UN resolutions. “Yet, because of the protection of one country, these violations have not been stopped or held accountable,” Ambassador Fu Cong said.
The British Ambassador to the United Nations, Barbara Woodward, a long-time US ally, lashed out at Israel. “The decisions of this Israeli government to expand its military operations in Gaza and to drastically limit aid are inexcusable, disproportionate and counterproductive, and the UK firmly opposes them,” she said.
Pakistani Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the US veto “will be remembered as complicity, a green light for continued annihilation. A time when the entire world expected action. But once again, this council has been blocked and prevented from carrying out its duties by one member.”
Slovenian UN Ambassador Samuel Žbogar, coordinator of the 10-member council, stressed that it was never intended to provoke a veto and that the resolution therefore focused on the humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for unimpeded access for aid. “Starving civilians and inflicting immense suffering is inhumane and contrary to international law,” he told the council after the vote. “No military objective can justify such an action. We hoped and expected that this was our common understanding.”
Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour said the Palestinians were now urging governments to take “concrete measures” to pressure Israel to leave Gaza before it implements what he called an Israeli plan “to destroy our people.”
And in the coming days, he added, the Palestinians would go to the General Assembly, where there are no vetoes, with a similar resolution focusing on humanitarian aid. Unlike the Security Council, the assembly’s resolutions are not legally binding, although they are considered a barometer of world public opinion.
