‘Israel’ confirms overtaking Madleen, activists detained
“They are attacking. Please sound the alarm. They are throwing substances and objects at us. There are quadcopters – the most dangerous ones.”
The words, recorded on video, come from inside the Madleen, the humanitarian ship headed to Gaza and intercepted during the night by Israeli forces which also used in the boarding “quadcopters and stinging substances” according to Italian Tv RAI.
The Israeli occupation Navy has confirmed that the Madleen, an activist boat headed for Gaza, is being towed to “Israel’s” Asdod port, after troops boarded the vessel in in the international waters as a blatant terrorist attack.
“Israel’s” Foreign Ministry stated that the boat is en route to Israeli-occupied shores, with passengers expected to return to their home countries.
“The ‘selfie yacht’ of the ‘celebrities’ is safely making its way to the shores of Israel. The passengers are expected to return to their home countries,” the ministry said.
There were no reports of injuries among the 12 pro-Palestinian activists on board, who had been sailing to Gaza to raise awareness and deliver aid. However, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organized the trip has lost contact with the vessel. They shared pre-recorded videos from those aboard, asking for assistance from their home countries.
“Communications with the Madleen have been cut off. The Israeli military has seized the vessel,” the organization Freedom Flotilla said on Telegram.
“Israel’s” Foreign Ministry criticized the mission, suggesting that activists like Swedish climate advocate Greta Thunberg were attempting to provoke media attention for publicity.
The ministry published a video showing detained activists being escorted, along with an X post saying, “The show is over.”
Earlier, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition reported on Telegram that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have boarded the activist ship Madleen. The group mentioned that they lost connection with the vessel, and a photo shared by the coalition shows passengers aboard the ship with their hands raised and wearing lifejackets.
“Based on previous experiences, Greta Thunberg and the others will be taken to Givon prison, near the city of Ramla. So-called illegal immigrants are detained there and there is a court that can quickly decide on deportation,” says lawyer Nariman Shehade Zoabi, from the human rights organization Adalah.
Afterwards, Palestinian activists from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s Madleen sailing vessel, which was seized by Israel while attempting to reach the Gaza Strip, have been taken to Tel Aviv airport for repatriation, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said. “Those who refuse to sign the deportation papers and leave Israel will be brought before a judicial authority, in accordance with Israeli law,” the ministry warned on X.

Israel arming ‘ISIS-affiliated’ gang in southern Gaza

The Israeli government’s move to ship rifles to a criminal gang tied to ISIS has drawn parallels with Tel Aviv’s prior strategy of funding Hamas to undermine the Palestinian Authority.
Israeli opposition leader and former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was arming a gang in southern Gaza that’s affiliated with ISIS, a charge that has been confirmed by Israeli officials.
“The Israeli government is giving weapons to a group of criminals and felons, identified with the Islamic State, at the direction of the prime minister,” Lieberman said. “To my knowledge, this did not go through approval by the cabinet.”
Liberman compared the arming of the criminal gang to Netanyahu’s previous strategy of propping up Hamas as a counter to the Palestinian Authority. “No one can guarantee that these weapons will not be directed at Israel. We have no way of monitoring or tracking them,” he said.
Later, Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has been arming “clans” in southern Gaza.“On the advice of security officials, we activated clans in Gaza that oppose Hamas. This is only good and saves the lives of IDF soldiers. The publication of this only benefits Hamas – but Lieberman doesn’t care,” he said, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Israeli military sources told The Times of Israel that Israel has been arming a group described as a “criminal gang of jihadists” led by Yasser Abu Shabab, a member of one of the largest clans in southern Gaza. Israel has been providing Abu Shabab’s gang with Kalashnikov rifles, including some that were seized from Hamas.
