Russian volcanology experts are analyzing the Kamchatka volcano’s explosion to confirm the hypothesized correlation with the previous, extremely powerful earthquake of a record magnitude of 8.8.

But this very correlation represents a nightmare for Italy, where for about eight years, seismic swarms from the Campi Flegrei supercaldera, one of the largest in the world, have intensified at an alarming rate.

Experts fear that these continuous and sometimes intense tremors, the latest of which measured magnitude 4.6, could be a sign of an upcoming, if not imminent, devastating volcanic eruption.

While there are no population centers at the foot of the Russian volcano (the first is 30 km away), 500,000 people live in the metropolitan area of Naples, which surrounds the Italian volcano.

Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano in Russia’s Far East sends ash plume 6.5 km high

The Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano, in English called Krasheninnikov, located in russian eastern region of Kamchatka, has spewed a 6.5-kilometer column of ash into the air, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences said in a statement on Telegram.

“Explosions raised volcanic ash as high as 6.5 kilometers above sea level. The ash plume spread 30 kilometers northeast from the volcano. The volcanic activity poses a threat to domestic and international fights,” the statement reads.

In the following days, a second volcanic explosion was recorded which in this case emitted a smoky plume 4 km high as visible in the video.

The Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano is Eurasia’s highest active volcano. It has a regular cone shape with a 700-meter-wide crater on top.

About 80 secondary blast craters and cinder cones are located on its slopes. The volcano is situated 30 kilometers from the settlement of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatcky District, which has a population of about 4,500.

Its steep, symmetrical cone towers about 100 kilometers from the Bering Sea. It is part of the Natural Volcanoes of Kamchatka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Eruption may be linked to the powerful earthquake that shook the Russian Far East last week

The nighttime eruption of the Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka, the first in 600 years, may be linked to the powerful earthquake that shook the Russian Far East last week, according to Russian state news agency RIA and scientists.

The erupting volcano was captured on camera by a group of tour guides from the local Snow Valley company, who were returning from a trip to see another volcano, Klyuchevskaya Sopka.

On the Telegram channel of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Olga Girina, head of the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team, stated that Krasheninnikov’s last lava outpouring occurred in 1550, and no eruptions have been reported since.

The Kamchatka branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Services stated that, following the volcano’s eruption, an ash column rising up to 6,000 meters was recorded. The volcano itself is located at 1,856 meters.

After the Earthquake Kamchatka Shifted by two meters and Decreased Slightly in Height

After the earthquake, Kamchatka not only shifted by two meters, but also decreased slightly in height. This was told to Izvestia by Danila Chebrov, director of the Kamchatka branch of the United Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to him, the peninsula is in motion all the time, as the lithospheric plates are moving. “Kamchatka is located on the North American Plate. It also moves, it is pushed by the oceanic plate, then it plays back a little, then again, and so on,” the expert explained.

He added that such shifts that occur during earthquakes may not be noticed.

“An earthquake is accompanied not only by shaking, which everyone really likes and remembers, but also by slow movements that are very large in amplitude, but they are completely impossible to feel and record without precise instruments,” said Chebrov.

The Similar Nightmare of Italian Supercaldera

What is happening in Kamchatka, a relatively safe distance from inhabited areas, represents the worst nightmare of another of the world’s most feared volcanoes: the Campi Flegrei supercaldera in Italy, which is surrounded by densely populated municipalities in the Naples metropolitan area.

It is one of the largest and most dangerous supervolcanoes (or large calderas) in the world and is famous for the phenomenon of bradyseism, a periodic rise and fall of the ground level.

It is not a single volcano, but an area with numerous craters and eruptive vents. The caldera has a diameter of approximately 15 kilometers.

In fact, for months, seismic swarms of ever-increasing frequency and intensity have been intensifying, which, according to some experts, could herald an imminent Plinian volcanic eruption that would have devastating effects on the area, as evidenced by a simulation video a few years ago.

But the most disconcerting fact comes from a recent study published in Nature Geoscience by several Italian and international volcanologists, according to which the increase in magmatic gas emissions is the clearest evidence of a magmatic fermentation that could trigger the eruption.

Despite this, Giorgia Meloni’s Italian government has not yet adopted plans to relocate the inhabitants closest to the gigantic crater, but only evacuation plans in the event of a seismic or volcanic emergency.

Suspicions about the Role of Geoengineering

When the tremendosu 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey in February 2023, devastating many population centers and having catastrophic consequences in Syria, social media conspiracy theorists pointed the finger at the infamous HAARP station in Alaska.

This is the acronym for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, a military installation located in Alaska (USA), near Gakona, west of Wrangell-Santo Elias National Park. It was a United States Air Force base and is now managed by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, but still develops numerous projects funded by the US Pentagon.

Gospa News published an investigation debunking this theory for two reasons:

APOCALYPTIC EARTHQUAKE AMID TURKEY’S OIL WELLS. Highly Seismic Zone Drilled for Decades to Search Dadas Shale

But the suspicion of a hypothetical correlation with the Kamchatka earthquake, the volcanic eruption, and the extreme geoengineering activity of the HAARP station may become plausible and should be thoroughly investigated, given that the Russian peninsula overlooks the Bering Sea and is only 3,000 nautical miles from Alaska…
