“Preemptive Strikes on Russia.” Threats from NATO Commander Cavo Dragone
«The North Atlantic Alliance is exploring the possibility of preemptive strikes in response to Russia’s alleged aggressive actions, but legal obstacles are complicating any decision, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, head of NATO’s Military Committee, told the Financial Times».
This is that the Russian news agency TASS reports, referring to FI (source at the bottom of the article).
The interview was given to the British economic and financial newspaper by no coincidence, given that for months the United Kingdom has been fomenting and piloting terrorist attacks by Ukrainian intelligence services in Russia to trigger World War III…
“NATO is considering a preemptive strike against Russia in response to hybrid attacks. Perhaps we should be more aggressive than our adversary,” declared the senior Italian official.
«According to Dragone, the alliance is considering a more proactive approach, potentially acting preemptively rather than solely reacting. He added that NATO could frame such strikes as defensive measures» The Russian agency reports.
The Financial Times cites NATO’s Baltic Sentry mission, which patrols the Baltic Sea and has prevented the recurrence of incidents involving cable cutting. “Since the beginning of Operation Baltic Sentry, nothing has happened. This means that deterrence is working,” Dragone believes.
In 2021, Dragone was appointed by the Council of Ministers as Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a position he will hold until October 4, 2024.
On September 16, 2023, the NATO armed forces leaders designated Admiral Cavo Dragone as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, replacing Dutch Admiral Robert Bauer, effective January 17, 2025.
On December 9, 2024, the Italian Council of Ministers approved the appointment.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman’s Response
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow considers these statements “an extremely irresponsible step, which indicates the alliance’s willingness to continue moving toward escalation.”
“We see this as a deliberate attempt to undermine efforts to overcome the Ukrainian crisis,” Zakharova said.
“Those who make such statements should be aware of the risks and possible consequences, including for the alliance’s own members.”

It’s disconcerting that a member of the Italian Armed Forces would give such interviews, endangering the security of the entire nation and making it a symbol of Russophobia, supported by the Italian government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Especially in light of the presentation of Russia’s new, extremely powerful nuclear weapons, unveiled by President Vladimir Putin precisely as an attempt to deter a terrible escalation toward World War III and the First Atomic Bomb…

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar said that NATO, “by intimidating its population with the Kremlin’s non-existent plans to attack the alliance countries,” had begun “preparing for a major war with Russia.”

Obviously, the NATO Italian commander, accustomed to trampling on the victims of the multiple wars waged in the Mediterranean to steal energy resources from the less industrialized countries of the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe, doesn’t seem to consider the power of the Oreshnik missile, which can destroy at least a third of Rome in a few minutes.

The explosive provocation launched by the official head of the Italian Armed Forces follows the trend of the Arms Lobby’s disastrous war speculation, which has found its main political champion in the Minister of Defense of the Meloni government, Guido Crosetto, former president of the Confindustria (Italian manufacturers of armament systems) and a former consultant to Leonardo S.p.A., the Italian multinational weapons manufacturer.
Leonardo, already in partnership with subsidiaries in the USA and Israel, is part of the European MBDA consortium which also includes the British multinational Bae Systems, the second largest arms manufacturer in the world, and produces one of the cruise missiles most used in the war in Ukraine: the Storm Shadow.
Leonardo also formed a new multinational together with the German company Rheimetall just before the presentation of the European Commission’s €800 billion rearmament plan, promoted by EC President Ursula Von Der Leyene, a former German Defence Minister who escaped a gilded consultancy scandal.
All these Warlords and the governments who have become their doormats therefore have a vested interest in the escalation of the conflict.
