Several U.S. warships deployed by the Trump arrived at the Bay of Port-au-Prince
«Several U.S. warships deployed by the Trump administration arrived at the Bay of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, increasing global attention on Haiti during a volatile moment for its government. According to U.S. Southern Command, the deployment of USS Stockdale» Scripps Nrews has reported on its YouTube channel.,
February 7, which marks the end of the mandate for Haiti’s 9-member Transitional Presidential Council. Tensions have risen steadily, especially since the council was recently hit with U.S. visa restrictions after voting to remove the current prime minister, defying calls from the U.S. government to maintain stability.
USCGC Stone, and USCGC Diligence comes under the direction of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, as part of “Operation Southern Spear,” a U.S. military campaignaimed at targeting alleged drug traffickers across the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. The latest developments come ahead of a critical deadline. (further details below)
This is the same excuse used by US President Donald Trump to control Venezuela’s waters, ultimately leading to the kidnapping of legitimately elected President Nicolas Maduro, who is detained in the US along with his wife awaiting trial for terrorism and drug trafficking.
Although these two accusations were debunked as unfounded by both an investigation by Gospa News and another by renowned American journalist Max Blumenthal, editor of The GrayZone.
The CIA in Venezuela to Facilitate Oil Deal with U.S.
Now the CIA is setting up a permanent outpost in Venezuela, from where it will reportedly replicate its work in Ukraine. That could mean anything from controlling local politicians to turning the country into a forward operating base for regime change, already attempted in 2002 and 2019.
With Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in US custody and acting President Delcy Rodriguez cooperating with Washington, America’s “priority number one” is to establish a CIA “annex” in Caracas, an anonymous US source told CNN in the latest days.
Long before the formal opening of a US embassy, this outpost will allow CIA agents to reach out to Rodriguez’s government and opposition parties, and “target third parties who may be threats,” the source said.
That the CIA would want to expand its operations in Venezuela is no surprise. US President Donald Trump authorized the agency to conduct covert operations in Venezuela last October, three months before Maduro was abducted by US special forces. Following the raid, CIA Director John Ratcliffe was the first senior American official to visit Venezuela to meet with Rodriguez and her military chiefs.
Delcy Rodríguez: diplomacy will guarantee sovereign dialogue with the U.S.
Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, held a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of Energy Christopher Wright on Wednesday, February 11, following a bilateral meeting at Miraflores Palace.
Addressing the international press, the Venezuelan leader stated that the talks focused first on “establishing a long-term productive partnership that will allow for an energy agenda to become the driving force of the bilateral relationship, and that this energy agenda will be productive, effective, beneficial to both countries, and complementary.”
Venezuela makes first crude oil shipment to Israel since 2009, says report
Venezuela plans to send its first shipment of crude oil to Israel in 17 years as part of opening up the country’s exports following the US abduction of President Nicolas Maduro, according to a Bloomberg report.
The two countries had severed ties since 2009 when they were cut by then President Hugo Chavez, with the last shipment consisting of around 470,000 barrels.
Venezuelan Information Minister Miguel Perez Pirela called the report “FAKE!” in a post on X.
The shipment, transported by Israel’s Bazan Group, was revealed to Bloomberg by those with knowledge of the deal and was not intended to be made public as part of a policy that Israel does not declare who supplies its crude oil. The shipment and restart of trade coincides with a meeting between Israel’s foreign minister Gideon Sa’ar and Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado in Washington DC last week.
Cuba, the US oil embargo is killing Castro’s dream
The last refueling arrived in Havana Bay on January 9th, aboard the Ocean Mariner: a tanker sent from Mexico with 86,000 barrels on board, unloaded at the Ñico López refinery. Not a drop has been delivered since.
«The United States has blocked all supply routes, pushing the Caribbean island into an unprecedented crisis, on the brink of collapse. Venezuela’s source, Cuba’s main supplier for years, was shut down even before the January 3rd raid that led to the kidnapping and capture of Nicolás Maduro» Italian analyst Andrea Gaiardoni wrote in the official website of Padua University.
But on January 29th, the US president also signed an executive order unilaterally citing “national security” reasons, imposing sanctions on anyone selling oil to the Cuban regime.
Mexico, fearing increased US tariffs, has also decided to suspend oil supplies while waiting for a diplomatic solution.
Mexico will send a new shipment of aid to Cuba and will facilitate citizen fundraising efforts
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Wednesday that her government will send a second shipment of humanitarian aid to Cuba, following the departure of two Mexican Navy ships on Sunday carrying more than 800 tons of food and essential supplies.
During her morning press conference, the president explained that the first shipment “arrives tomorrow (Thursday), the ship will return, and a second shipment will be sent.” She also announced that mechanisms will be put in place to facilitate the participation of civil society organizations that are organizing donation drives.
“I know that there are groups in society that are organizing to collect supplies, and they can deliver them,” Sheinbaum stated, adding that the Ministry of the Interior will act as a liaison to coordinate with federal authorities regarding available space on the official shipments.
The Papaloapan ship is transporting around 536 tons of essential food items, including milk, meat products, cookies, beans, rice, tuna in water, sardines, vegetable oil and personal hygiene items.
The announcement comes as negotiations between Mexico and the United States continue regarding the resumption of oil shipments to Cuba, amid warnings from Washington about imposing tariffs on countries that supply energy to the island.
Sheinbaum confirmed that talks are ongoing and reiterated that Mexico is willing to mediate between Washington and Havana.
Three destroyers and one order: how the US imposed its rule on Haiti
«Three US warships anchored off Port-au-Prince marked the end of the last vestige of governmental autonomy in Haiti. On February 7, after weeks of diplomatic pressure and direct threats, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) was dissolved as demanded by Washington, consolidating the absolute power of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, a controversial businessman who has never been elected» TeleSur has reported in Spanish version.
The operation began on February 1, when the USS Stockdale—a guided-missile destroyer designed for multi-mission operations—arrived in the capital’s bay alongside the patrol boats USCGC Stone and USCGC Diligence. Southern Command justified the military presence as a “firm commitment to security,” while the embassy promised a “safer and more prosperous Haiti.”
On January 23, Secretary of State Marco Rubio directly conveyed to Fils-Aimé the order to dissolve the CPT “without interference caused by internal divisions.” The message came at a critical moment: five of the seven voting members of the Council had demanded the prime minister’s resignation just two weeks earlier, accusing him of failing in his role as the country prepared for its first elections in a decade.
“The Secretary added that the CPT must be dissolved by February 7, without corrupt actors seeking to interfere,” stated State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott. The irony was not lost on anyone: Washington was talking about “corrupt actors” while defending an official accused of misappropriating public funds and surrendering national sovereignty.

Rubio reaffirmed that Fils-Aimé should remain prime minister to combat “terrorist” gangs and “stabilize” the country, ignoring the fact that the majority of Haitians do not recognize him as the legitimate authority. The US embassy described any attempt to alter the government’s composition as a “threat to regional stability,” warning that it would take “appropriate measures.” The military flotilla reinforced the ultimatum.
Fils-Aimé, a media entrepreneur and Boston University graduate, has never won an election. His only attempt failed in 2016 when he ran for a Senate seat. His first speech as president revealed his loyalties: he spoke in French for the first half, a language spoken only by the elite, while the vast majority speaks Creole. “He was addressing foreigners and privileged sectors, not the people,” notes a publication by Brasil de Fato.
The popular radio station Radyo Rezistans reported that the prime minister diverts $35,000 a month from public funds to pay lobbyists at the State Department. He also signed a 10-year, multimillion-dollar contract with the private security firm of Eric Prince, former director of Blackwater.

This agreement hands over control of Haitian customs and borders to foreign mercenaries under the pretext of “modernization.” The documents are under review by the Superior Court of Accounts, while social organizations are demanding a halt to what they consider a systematic surrender of sovereignty.
Haitian journalist Reyneld Sanon asserts that the prime minister “doesn’t govern the country; he’s a servant of the US imperialist agenda.” According to Sanon, Fils-Aimé, along with Secretary of State Mario Andresol and Police Director Vladimir Paraison, maintain ties with criminal gangs and enjoy the support of foreign embassies.
