TOP WAR Confirmed that USS Lincoln was Forced to retreat to the southeastern Indian Ocean
«Iranian media are publishing some details of the attack on the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. A spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that the US Navy carrier group was attacked by four cruise missiles. rockets at the time of its location at a distance of up to 300 km from the coast of Iran» Top War has reported.
«The enemy aircraft carrier and its escort group were 250-300 km off the coast of Chabahar (an Iranian port on the Arabian Sea). After launching four cruise missiles, it was forced to retreat to the southeastern Indian Ocean».
As a reminder, the US side claimed that Iran posed no threat to the carrier strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln. However, there is growing evidence that, following a report from the carrier strike group commander, Navy command ordered the aircraft carrier to withdraw—precisely after the Iranian attack.
It is not reported whether any serious damage was caused to the aircraft carrier.

“The US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was forced to leave its position (in Gulf of Oman close to Persian Gulf – ed) and head toward the Indian Ocean as a result of the Iranian attack, the IRGC press service reported.”
This report received widespread attention in Asia because it was written by the well-known Russian online newspaper RIA Novosti, which has become known for its timely and accurate reporting on military intelligence.

IRGC Strikes with Missiles on America’s Warship as reported by Iranian PRESS TV
Yesterday, March 1st, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a press release claiming to have hit the aircraft carrier with four ballistic missiles.
«The Corps’ statement also followed an earlier announcement in which it said it had targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with four ballistic missiles. It stated that the carrier was “successfully targeted,” pledging that both land and sea would become a “graveyard for the aggressors.”» Iranian PRESS TV published on its website and posted on X

Attack Discussed in the World’s Media. CENTOM Denied
The matter was reported by media outlets around the world, prompting the US Pentagon’s CENTCOM to issue a categorical denial, saying it had “not even been touched.”
«For about an hour, rumours circulated on social media claiming that the USS Abraham Lincoln – one of the US aircraft carriers in the Gulf – had been struck. The US Central Command moved quickly to deny those reports. It said missiles were fired but fell well short of the carrier, which continues to launch aircraft towards targets in Iran» Al Jazeera wrote.
But commentators in the Middle East and throughout Asia have indulged in speculation, so much so that the most extreme YouTube channels have even gone so far as to suggest that it may have sunk.
The Repoort by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB
The RIA Novosti article, later republished by News-Pravda, specifically cites a report by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
“After the attack, this ship headed toward the Indian Ocean from the base where it was carrying out its mission.”
This suggests that the aircraft carrier suffered some damage, albeit minimal, and preferred to flee the scorching waters of the Persian Gulf, where a naval battle destined to escalate has begun.

When USS Dwight D. Eisenhower esscaped from Saudi Port after Houti Attacks
If this is confirmed, it would replicate the scenario experienced by the other American aircraft carrier, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, which in June 2024 was forced to flee from a Saudi port and sail far into the Red Sea after suffering two missile attacks from Yemeni Houthi separatists.
In that case, too, the Pentagon and the US Navy denied any damage. But the rebel leaders, who intervened to defend Palestine from the Israeli genocide, had provided precise indications on the movements of the aircraft carrier making their official statement very credible.
Yemeni Houthi rebels Attacked the US Air Carrier Eisenhower in the Red Sea
“The American aircraft carrier ‘Eisenhower’ will remain a target for our Armed Forces whenever the opportunity arises,” Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said in a speech on Thursday.
He noted that the vessel had been hit twice within 24 hours using seven cruise missiles and four drones. After the strikes, “it [the carrier] retreated towards the northern Red Sea, fearing further targeting by our Armed Forces,” the Ansarullah leader said.
“The ‘Eisenhower’ was 400 kilometers from the Yemeni coast during the targeting, then moved about 880 kilometers northwest of [the Saudi port city of] Jeddah,” he remarked.
