At least 29 US soldiers have been injured in Iranian attacks on a Saudi air base.
Iran fired six ballistic missiles and 29 drones at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia yesterday, wounding at least 15 soldiers, five of them seriously, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.
US officials had initially reported that at least 10 US soldiers had been injured, two of them seriously. People familiar with the matter said the base was attacked twice earlier this week, injuring 14 US soldiers. Located about 60 miles from the Saudi capital Riyadh, the base is operated by the Royal Saudi Air Force but is also used by US troops.
The Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps claims that at least twelve US military members were taken from the scene “clinically dead”.

CENTCOM confirms aircraft loss, denies hostile fire
A KC-135 refueling aircraft typically carries a crew of up to six members, including a pilot, co-pilot, and a boom operator responsible for mid-air refueling operations. Some missions may also include a navigator, according to information published by the US Air Force, as CNN reported.
So far, the only official US confirmation has come from US Central Command (CENTCOM), which said it is aware of the loss of a KC-135 refueling aircraft. According to the statement, the incident occurred in “friendly airspace” during Operation Epic Fury (read below).
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), however, the incident involved two aircraft, with one going down in friendly airspace and the other landing safely in Israel.
The US military said rescue efforts are ongoing, alleging that the incident was not caused by enemy fire or friendly fire.
Already, three fighter jets were downed in an apparent friendly fire incident on March 1, just one day into the war.
Central Command explained that the jets, three F-15E Strike Eagles, were “mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defences” during an active combat situation, as Iran issued retaliatory attacks across much of the Middle East.

U.S. military plane crashes in Iraq as status of crew is unknown
An American military aerial refueling tanker that was involved in the U.S. military operation in Iran crashed in Western Iraq on Thursday, according to multiple U.S. officials who spoke to CBS News.
Recovery efforts are underway in the area where a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker crashed. The status of the crew is unknown at this time. A second Stratotanker was damaged but landed safely.
According to flight tracking service FlightRadar24, a KC-135 tanker declared an emergency before landing in Tel Aviv Thursday evening.
U.S. Central Command released a statement Thursday afternoon saying both aircraft were involved in the same incident, and it was not caused by hostile fire or friendly fire.
This marks the fourth publicly acknowledged aircraft to crash as a part of Operation Epic Fury. Last Monday, the U.S. military also confirmed that three F-15E Strike Eagles were downed in a friendly-fire incident involving Kuwait, but all 6 crew members safely ejected.

Iranian Foreign Ministry condemns UN Security Council resolution
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has condemned the United Nations Security Council’s resolution on Iran as “utterly unlawful”.
In a statement on X, Baghaei said Wednesday’s resolution – which condemns Iran’s attacks on the Gulf countries and Jordan – “distorts the fundamental principles”, of the UN Charter and international law.
He accused the resolution’s sponsors of ignoring that “Iran is defending itself against an unprovoked aggression by two bullying regimes”.
“No country should provide any assistance to the U.S./Israeli illegal war against Iran,” he said, adding that Tehran “has no intention of violating the sovereignty or territorial integrity of its neighbors and has exercised maximum restraint”.

Strikes by Israel and the United States against a school and thousands of other civilian targets in Iran demonstrate the danger of the uncontrolled use of artificial intelligence (AI) in selecting bombing targets, the Financial Times (FT) reports, according to TASS.
“The girls’ school [bombing] feels to me like the building was on a target list for years. Yet this was missed, and the question is how?” a former senior US defense official said, asking not to be identified.

Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the third leader of Iran’s Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, pledged that Iran will continue its retaliation against US and Israeli military targets while maintaining the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
In his first public message after assuming leadership, Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei began by mourning his father, the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, eulogizing his martyrdom as a profound loss for Iran and the wider resistance front.
“Sitting in the place once occupied by the two great leaders of this nation, the great Khomeini and the martyred Khamenei, is an immense responsibility”.

Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei emphasized that Iranian strikes would remain focused on military installations rather than civilian targets, particularly bases used by US forces in the region.
“We believe in maintaining friendly relations with neighboring states, and target only military bases, but we will be forced to continue these strikes,”he said.
He praised Iranian fighters for their role in blocking attempts by adversaries to weaken the country, adding that Iranian forces had delivered “crushing blows” against those attempting to impose dominance over the nation.
“We consider the countries of the resistance front to be among the friendliest to Iran,” he affirmed, praising Ansar Allah, Hezbollah, and the Iraqi Resistance for their continued support for Gaza and Iran.
Sayyed Khamenei also stressed the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz as an essential strategic tool in Iran’s response to the ongoing conflict.
“The use of the lever of closing the Strait of Hormuz must certainly continue,” he said, arguing that the measure remains a key instrument in Iran’s confrontation with its adversaries.
He also urged regional governments to reconsider allowing foreign military infrastructure on their territory, emphasizing that Washington’s promises of security in the region had proven unreliable.
The Geopolitical Analyst: “A doubling-down on Iran’s established positions”
Rob Geist Pinfold, a lecturer in international security at King’s College London, says the first public statement from Iran’s new supreme leader represents a doubling-down on Iran’s established positions.
He told Al Jazeera the message amounted to “very much the repetition of the standard Iranian lines”.
His key messaging was “that they don’t have any conflict with the GCC states whilst they’re also striking them; they don’t want to back down; the Straits of Hormuz stays closed; and US bases in the region have to go”.

IRGC launches 40th wave of Operation True Promise 4 in cooperation with Hezbollah
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has carried out the 40th wave of its ongoing retaliatory Operation True Promise 4, launching decisive strikes against hostile targets throughout the region.
According to the Corps, the latest phase of the operation involved the firing of Qadr, Emad, Kheibar Shekan, and Fattah missiles against targets in the occupied territories.
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, announced early on Thursday that its fighters carried out multiple operations targeting Israeli occupation military sites under Operation Devoured Straw (read below), as part of ongoing retaliatory operations to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
The Resistance confirmed that the Ya’ra barracks were targeted using a swarm of attack drones, striking a military site used by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near the border with the occupied Palestinian territory.
These operations targeted military bases, troop gatherings, and settlements deep inside occupied Palestine, including key intelligence and monitoring facilities.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah has announced Operation Devoured Straw in response to the Israeli aggression against its homeland and people, according to Al Mayadeen Lebanese TV.
The name originates from a verse in the Holy Qur’an from Surah al-Fil (The Elephant), and refers to a famous event in pre-Islamic Arabia known as “The Year of the Elephant.”
Right upon announcing the operation, Hezbollah launched at least 100 missiles targeting northern “Israel”, Israeli media reported. Sirens blared across northern settlements and also in central “Israel” as two waves of Iranian missiles were detected.
At the same time, Israeli media reported a fresh round of alarms in the occupied north amid a drone attack from Lebanon, particularly in the occupied Golan Heights, Metulla, and Misgav Am.
Direct impact was reported as missiles pounded the Israeli occupation.
‘Israel’ kills 68, wounds 145 across Lebanon on Wednesday
“Israel’s” latest wave of aggression on Lebanon consisted of wide-scale and intense airstrikes on Beirut’s Southern Suburb on Wednesday, according to Al Mayadeen‘s correspondent.

Spain removes ambassador from Israel in protest to Iran war, Gaza genocide
The Spanish government has decided to withdraw its ambassador to Israel, according to the official state gazette.
The move on Wednesday comes as Spain has been one of the European Union’s foremost critics of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza and the new war on Iran launched by the United States and Israel.
“At the proposal of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, and following deliberation by the Council of Ministers at its meeting on 10 March 2026, I hereby order the termination of Ms Ana María Sálomon Pérez’s appointment as Ambassador of Spain to the State of Israel,” the gazette said.
Spain’s embassy in Tel Aviv will be led by a charge d’affaires, a source at the Foreign Ministry said, according to Reuters news agency.
The country’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is one of the few left-wing leaders in Europe to condemn the US-Israel attack on Iran as “unjustifiable” and said that Madrid’s position was “no to the war”.

US President Donald Trump is facing growing pressure from some of his advisors to outline a path toward ending the war on Iran, as concerns mount over rising oil prices and the potential political costs of a prolonged war, The Wall Street Journalreported on Tuesday.
According to the report, Trump suggested the war could conclude soon, claiming that the operation has already accomplished much of what it set out to achieve. Speaking to reporters in Florida on Monday, he said the United States had progressed rapidly in the war.
Despite those remarks, the report noted that senior figures within the administration consider a rapid withdrawal unlikely under current conditions. Officials told the newspaper that continued Iranian attacks against US positions and regional targets, alongside “Israel’s” ongoing readiness to strike Iranian sites, would complicate any attempt by Washington to disengage from the war.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran has launched the 34th wave of Operation True Promise4, firing precision missiles equipped with warheads exceeding one ton against US and Israeli bases, according to an official statement.

A number of American troops killed in military operation in the Middle East has climbed to six, the US Central Command reported.
“As of 4 p.m. ET, March 2, [9:00 p.m. GMT] six US service members have been killed in action,” the US Central Command said in a statement posted on its X social network account.

A commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says the Strait of Hormuz is now closed and warned any vessel attempting to pass through will be attacked, according to Iranian state media, as highlighted by Al Jazeera
“The strait is closed. If anyone tries to pass the heroes of the Revolutionary Guard and the regular navy will set those ships ablaze,”said Ebrahim Jabari, a senior adviser to the paramilitary force’s commander-in-chief.

Iran’s army says a wave of attack drones has been launched towards Israel, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The military statement cited by the agency said it was the first large drone offensive carried out from Iran against Israel.
Shortly after the US and Israel struck Iran, explosions were heard in northern Israel as it sought to shoot down incoming Iranian missiles.
