UN Reports: “51% of Palestinian child detainees in Israel without charge or trial”
On 18 March, Defense for Children International – Palestine issued a press release denouncing that 51% of Palestinian child detainees are in administrative detention without charge or trial, which is both the highest number and the highest proportion on record since Defense for Children International – Palestine began its monitoring work in 2008.
A total of 351 Palestinian children were detained in Israeli prisons as of 31 December 2025, according to the latest data available from the Israel Prison Service (IPS).
«Unchilding is the term coined by Professor Nudera Shalhoub-Kevorkian[1], who argues that Israel treats Palestinian children as nobodies, unworthy of global children’s rights and as dangerous and killable bodies needing to be caged and dismembered physically and mentally. Precisely because children represent and embody ideas and aspirations about the future, that children are, quite literally, the future, Israel must stymie and distort their very existence» wrote Bernard Spiegal.
On 15 March, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) denounced Israel’s “continued killings and the systematic destruction of all essentials for life in an increasingly overt and escalating manner”.
The NGO warned that Israel is exploiting the international community’s preoccupation with the ongoing war involving Iran, as well as the decline in international attention to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) as a whole.
US Secretary of Defense blatantly Declares Religious War
Precisely regarding the conflict between Washington and Tehran triggered by the preemptive bombings ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of the Zionist Israeli regime and wanted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague for war crimes and genocide, one of his main allies, the head of the US Pentagon, has released a shocking statement that contradicts every UN resolution and in particular the 1981 resolution that enshrines the fundamental right of every individual to freedom of belief and worship.
In an official statemente the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, blatantly Declares the starting of a Religious War…
IDF drops charges against soldiers accused of sexually assaulting Palestinian detaine
Israel’s military has dropped charges against soldiers accused of sexually abusing a Palestinian prisoner at a wartime detention facility at the Sde Teiman base. The high-profile case has deeply divided Israeli society.
The incident relates to events in July 2024 at the military base in southern Israel, where five reservists were initially investigated for rape and later indicted for “aggravated abuse” after leaked video appeared to show a blindfolded Palestinian detainee being assaulted.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday that prosecutors had withdrawn the indictment, citing insufficient evidence to secure a conviction and procedural concerns after the video footage was leaked to the media. The military also said the alleged victim had since been returned to Gaza, creating uncertainty over whether he would be able to testify at trial.
In the video, the soldiers are seen taking aside a detainee lying face down and surrounding him with riot shields in what appears to be an attempt to conceal their actions.
The indictment said one of the soldiers stabbed the detainee near the rectum with a sharp object. The detainee was later taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition with fractured ribs and blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen. He underwent surgery before being returned to the facility days later.
The scandal contributed to the resignation of the IDF’s former military advocate general, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, who acknowledged authorizing the release of the footage “to counter the false propaganda.”
An Israeli human rights group has warned the decision gives soldiers “license to rape” Palestinian detainees
The case triggered a fierce national debate. The accused reservists have publicly defended their actions, claiming they were being unfairly prosecuted and vowing to “fight for justice.”
On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the decision, stating that “Israel must pursue its enemies, not its heroic fighters.” Defense Minister Israel Katz likewise said “justice has been done.”
Human rights groups, however, strongly criticized the decision. The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel accused the IDF of whitewashing the scandal, stating that “Israel’s military advocate general just gave his soldiers license to rape … so long as the victim is Palestinian.”
The Sde Teiman base, partially converted into a detention camp for Palestinians suspected of militant activity during the Gaza war, has faced allegations of widespread torture and abuse.

As one of Israel’s most significant trading partners, the UK is one of the main destination countries for many settlement products, creating a direct link between British imports and the unlawful presence of Israel in the OPT.

Violations of the right to privacy and created unsafe and unsuitable environments for women and girls.
- On 4 March, MIFTAH published the report “The Gendered Impact of Forced Displacement on Palestinian Families from Northern West Bank Refugee Camps”. The report documents the crime of forced displacement affecting the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps, as well as other areas in the northern West Bank in 2024-25, with a particular focus on its complex and multi-dimensional impacts on Palestinian women. It highlights that post-displacement housing arrangements such as temporary shelters, overcrowded living with other families, or accommodation with non-relatives have resulted in serious violations of the right to privacy and created unsafe and unsuitable environments for women and girls. These conditions have heightened the risk of gender-based violence, eroded family support networks, and restricted women’s access to humanitarian aid and essential services.
